Why did the movie The Prince of Persia only have white people in it and no actual Persians?
This is the same white American bullshyt I’m talking about. They always trying to whitewash everything. I didn’t see one Persian in the whole movie. Hell with modern technology, they could have at least put a few in there to make it look somewhat authentic. I played the games, and the character does look Persian, and nothing like Jake Gyllenhaal. The sad part about the movie was watching a bunch of white people trying to sound like they have an accent, but they all just sounded like English people from England, trying to do a Persian accent. If we do live in post racial times, how about letting other races of people play their own parts?….How about that.
Due to the historical Hollywood habit of “white washing” actor/actress stars in its movies. Obviously it happens due to economical interests since frankly speaking most of the american people is not quite ready to bear watching a blockbuster starring a non white “good guy”. Examples? In the 1920s Hollywood preferred to paint white actors in black character instead of taking a black actor. In the 1960s the TV show “Kung Fu” a tipically chinese story was starred by an american actor and not by an asian one. Bias allied with economical interests.
