Where does one get a Chinese roast pig in the Baltimore-Washington area?
Where does one get a Chinese roast pig (preferably whole) in the Baltimore-Washington area? I need to take one to my fiancee’s parents for the announcement ceremony.
I don’t think there a chinatown in the Baltimore-Washington area but you could definatly get one there. If there is one close by, definately go for it. I go to chinatown like every week, and you can get it at numerous restraunts and meat shops. Because you probably want a fresh and whole one for an announcement ceremony thats the best place. If there isnt one near by, try to look for a chinese restraunt, but not an americanized one that sells like take out and has stuff like crab ragoon (UGH that stuff is good). A place that sells traditional food and maybe has dim sum is a place where you can look. They may or may not sell you one, but the can tell you where they get theres and tell you a place. Also, look for a place thats in a dense population of chinese, cause you may find a meat shop there if your lucky. Oh heres a tip, the crispy skin of the roast pig is like the favored and best part, so if you do find a place, dont buy it ahead of time. Try to get it the latest you can because in a couple od hours, the skin gets soggy, and it just doesn’t taste and look appealing. GOOD LUCK and I hope you find a place!!!!!! Hope this helps!!!!
