Why do Oriental people get so mad when you refer to them as chinese?
Like if i refer to an algerian person as arab they dont get all offended they understand the mistake and will simply correct me in saying they are berber not arab, same for persians. Like when i was younger if i heard a classmate speaking something and i would say what are you speaking is that chinese like cantanese or mandrin. They get all upset and are like im not CHINESE. Whereas if i refer to someone who is speaking punjabi as speaking urdu…they dont get all upset there normal and are just like” no actually its punjabi” I dont understand why they used to get so mad and offended towards me. Like it not like its a bad thing.
People have different personalities and it may be just that one person. If the person was Korean and you called them Chinese that may offend them, especially after the wars they have fought against one another, that’s just a guess. People are also proud of their background.
