Summer Clearance Free Underage drinking and Top Secret Security Clearance in the Navy?
I ship out for the Navy in the summer and have a rating that requires me to get a Top Secret Security Clearance.
I think I’m pretty qualified for it. I have no criminal record other than 1 speeding/4 minor parking tickets. I am completely drug free. I have no foreign contacts, and have been to Canada once. I have no debt and have never been in debt, etc.
But I’ve drank underage before, which I think might cause some trouble. Nothing out of the ordinary for a teenager, just some partying with friends. I’m now 18 and realize it’s not worth the trouble it could get me in. I don’t drink now and was never like alcoholic or anything, and haven’t been cited or charged with anything.
Anyway so I know they ask you about underage drinking at the interview/polygraph at boot camp, and I won’t lie about it, but does anyone know what kind of strain that could put on my credibility/eligibility?
Does it decrease my chances of getting granted my TC clearance?

There should be no problem with it. If you had multiple arrests for it, that could indicate that you have a reliability problem. They do not expect you to have been perfect as a teen.
Your clearance will be determined by a background check conducted by professionals. They will communicate with teachers, employers, neighbors, etc.

Your library has a webpage that most likely has links to online subscription databases. These aren’t books, but they are full-text articles that have been published in newspapers, magazines and journals that are great for research. You’d probably have to input your library card number, but you wouldn’t have to go to the library to use them.
They may even have ebooks, but that would depend on your library.
