Help please: What kind of carpet (material type) would be good for a high traffic living room?
I want to put an area rug in my living room but want to know what the best type to get is (one that I can clean pretty easily). Unluckily the front door opens right into the living room (theres no foyer or anything) and I have all wooden floors so wet shoes get tracked inside pretty easily. I have a small mat inside and out the door to try to catch some of the wetness but it doesnt catch all of it. I know whatever area rug I put down will get stuff tracked on it pretty easily so I want to know what the easiest kind to clean is.

Wood Stain on Mexican (Saltillo) Tile Floor? And, possibly some legal advice??
I recently hired a flooring contractor to refinish and stain mexican tile floors in my home. As he was putting the stain on, I was surprised to see that he was not using a flooring product but a standard wood stain. He assured me that this was an acceptable use and appropriate product – since he had already started and it was too late to turn back, we had him complete the job. Now, 3 months later our tile looks terrible… it is spotting and peeling in areas. The contractor is telling me that we have an extraordinary amount of wear on our floors and that ultimately the problem is ours. He suggested that he bring the floors to the level that they were upon completion of the job and then to use floor mats and area rugs to protect the floor. I’m not at all pleased with that answer and am considering legal options at this point. Before I do that, can someone tell me if using wood stain on a tile floor is customary? Does anyone have any resources they can point me to? Thank you!
