Tree Life
Was the Tree Of Life the female reproduction organ. Was the Tree of Knowledge the human brain?
They both look like a tree. Trunk and foliage. God told Adam to stay away from the tree of life. That is what one man tells another man. Did God suspend their right to use their brain or did He just accept that He had a problem. How did that ol ‘Bible writer know the organs looked like trees. What “advanced” system of cloning did God use to make a female from a male? This is getting stickier all the time.
Adam and Eve did not eat from the Tree of Life, but from the Tree of Knowledge. God did not tell them to stay away from the Tree of Life, because the Tree of Life gives Eternal life.
I think the Tree of Life is a metaphor for God. If you consume his gospel, you will gain eternal life.
The Tree of Knowledge is a metaphor for ‘worldly’ things. If you consume ‘worldly and material things’ you will lose track of what really matters. Those material things will begin to consume you: more money, more DVD’s, more/bigger/better-just look out your window, we can see it happening all around us. Bigger automobiles (gas guzzlers), bigger houses (that are now getting foreclosed), more money (which means we have to work longer hours and spend less time with our family and children). The consumerism is what God was warning about. He wants us to remember that when we die, we can’t bring these things with us.
God didn’t ‘clone’ anyone. He used Adam’s rib to create Eve as a metaphor for us all to remember that men and women are really one. Without man, a woman can not conceive. Without a woman, a man can not be whole. (don’t make this an anti gay thing, I feel you reading and smell your brain working)
This is all conjecture, really. NO ONE knows what God means. The Bible is a living scripture. You can read the same passage in different stages of your life and come to different conclusions and meanings each time you read it. It means what YOU want it to mean.
When we die, we’ll truly find out the big picture. Until then, try to live each day as if it was your last. Who knows, maybe it will be your last?
